A seal of distinction

Jean Cartier Awards were created in 1985 by María Fernanda Cartier, wife of the French actor, singer and designer Jean Cartier, who paved the way for international relevance in the world of fashion and showbusiness generating great successes in cinema, theater and television as well as creations of avant-garde in the fashion world. Jean Cartier was the creator, producer, director and TV host of a lot of Television programs and formats from fiction, musicals, entertainment, contests of beauty for Miss World and Miss Universe, and revue theatres, such as the Lido de Paris and the Moulin Rouge, where important figures of the show business debuted and started his great careers.

His fame and style imposed a seal of distinction and glamour to great creations of fashion, haute perfumery and design. 

 

The Jean Cartier distinctions were awarded  from1994 to 1998 at the prestigious Miami Beach Fontainebleau hotel, to great and renowned personalities and businessmen of Florida, in televised events for USA and Latin America, which set the trend and the glamour of Jean Cartier. 

November 3, 1996, was decreed as "The day of the JEAN CARTIER DISTINCTIONS" by Miami Mayor Joe Carollo.

These Awards were created to internationally recognise achievements of artists, businessmen, athletes and great figures of the world.

Jean Cartier awarded world famous artists like B.B. King, Libertad Lamarque, Camilo Sesto, The Platters, Trio Los Panchos, Steven Bauer, Tony Curtis, major media newspapers such as the Miami Herald, Mayors of Miami, like Joe Carollo and Alex Penelas, popular musicians like Maria Marta Serra

Lima, Charly Garcia, Valeria Lynch, Mariano Mores, athletes like Diego Maradona, Emerson Fittipaldi, Carlos Reuteman, Guillermo VIlas, Carlos Monzón, great figures like Alberto Olmedo, Jorge Porcel, Susana Giménez, Mirta Legrand, plastic artists like Marta Minujin, Rogelio Pollesello, Nicolas Garcia Uriburu, Julio Bocca, Gino Bogani, entrepreneurs like Franco Macri, President Carlos Menem, Ana Gaviria, First Lady of Colombia, among others. 

Each of these events had the presence of the ambassadors and consuls representatives of the countries of the winners.
